How do I change the resolution of my TV if I use it as a second monitor?

I have a 2006 Dell Inspiron E1405 running Windows XP. I recently bought a new lcd hdTV. I have connected my laptop to my TV using an s-video cord. I can get a display on the TV, but I can only change the resolution between 800x600 and 1024x768. The TV has a resolution of 1366x768, but the automatic settings coming up on Display Properties won't let me choose a different resolution. As a result, everything looks fuzzy on the TV.

Is there any way for me to manually change the resolution options? How do I change the resolution of my TV if I use it as a second monitor?
Adam is right. S-video cannot put out higher resolution than 1024 pixcells. This is the maximum you can get. An alternate is HDMI but I think you laptop doesnt have it as you usually have S-video or HDMI. An alternate solution for your TV is if you have a PC connection on your TV which is a 19 pin vga socket (blue or black female socket on side of laptop). Look for its male socket equivalent on TV. If you have one then you can run a cable from laptop to TV and also use a audio cable from your headphone socket on laptop to TV for audio. How do I change the resolution of my TV if I use it as a second monitor?
it may have something to do with s-video not being able to handle a high resolution (not sure though). i have my hd tv plugged into my desktop computer as a second monitor using a HDMI cable and it works fine at 1366x768.

How to change picture resolution?

ps3, ok on guitar hero, my new tv is really high def and nice, bu guitar hero on it is laggy, no matter how many time is (calibrate te lag) it is always mestup, my friend told me to chnage my ps3 picture res. since i got a really nce tv to 1080i

but wen i go to display settings, then video output settings its on 480i, so i figure change it to 1080i its all good, everything will work, but when i go to change it..it makes me hoose (component/d-terminal) (composite/s video_ (AV multi/scart) (hdmi), so i tired all of them, after choosing them i says stuff about the screen goingblank if the setting is not correct, and all of then besides (compisite / s video) go blank, and when i choose that one it says (16:9) (4:3) i choose eiher then it says the conncter type the resoliution (standard)? and tv type (16:9) i hit enter and finish, nothing happens, i choose compontet d terminal, it works! it says select all resolutions your tv can support, im sure it supports all, it was like 3000 bucks, and huge, HELLA good tv, so i say whtever and try all, then one at a time, whatever, every kind of possiblility, and it says the screen will go black if not correct, and i they screen goes black after 30 seconds, it goes back to display options? howcome i cant change it to 1080i or 1080p or watever? How to change picture resolution?
with a component cable u can only achieve max res of 1080i. if u want the 1080p resolution u need to connect with a hdmi cable.

How to zoom my home theater picture to full screen?

my LG LCD TV LF 15 won't show full pictures from my dvd player? Have zoom on tv ok, but when playing movies, have black lines top and bottom. Shows only 4:3, 16:9 and what about video Resolution set on 1080p is that correct,

tried many ways to full screen, but does not change. How to zoom my home theater picture to full screen?
Widescreen motion pictures are actually wider that television widescreen. When the movie producer puts a movie on DVD, a decision has to be made whether to optimize to the 16:9 television shape, which requires chopping off the right and left edges of the picture, or providing the entire width of the original movie which requires putting black bars at the top and bottom. Older movies filmed with a lot of action on the sides, like %26quot;Ben Hur%26quot; usually make the DVD version with black bars so the action is not chopped off. Most modern movies are shot so as to be able to be seen on a 16:9 television without losing essential picture elements on the side. This is called %26quot;protecting%26quot; in the trade. A few directors still insist on superwide action, so even some newer movies require the black bar so you can see the entire picture. How to zoom my home theater picture to full screen?
That's because your video's aspect ratio is different from your TV's. I think you need a software to change it to full screen.

iorgsoft video converter can change the aspect ratio to 4:3, 16:9 or full screen. What you have to do is download the software and import the video and set the aspect ratio. The process can be done in seconds.

Screen resolution changed and won't change back.. 10 POINTS IF YOU CAN HELP.?

So here's the deal. My computer was acting funky when I tried to boot up a video editing program. Program wasn't responding for 15 minutes straight so I unplugged the computer from the power unit it was on (did not reformat the system because all my stuff is still there.) BIG MISTAKE. I certainly will NOT be doing that again. Because when I restarted the system, the screen resolution was sitting at 640 something x 800 something and when I went into Control Panel to modify it, it wouldn't change. I also tried System Restore. Didn't do anything.

My computer's OS is Windows XP Professional.

    Computer make is Dell.

I cannot reinstall the OS. That is not an option.

Also, calling a Tech Support person isn't an option, so please don't bother with those kinds of answers if you intend to post.

    How can I fix this?

I know that fixing the problem involves graphics drivers and stuff. But everytime I look it up, the explanations leave me no where and are too complicating for me, plus, sometimes it seems like when someone's instructions tell me to go to My Computer and do something, it doesn't appear the way they describe so I can't do anything.

Can anyone actually shed some light on this? I'm totally lost! ):Screen resolution changed and won%26039;t change back.. 10 POINTS IF YOU CAN HELP.?
If you purchased your computer from DELL..it should have a Resource Disk--that is where the Graphics Driver is..

Do Not..re-install the CHIPSET driver..it can only be intalled after the OS..has been re-installed//a Clean re-install is the OS..and its ChipSet Driver..//

    ===

Also..look in the Control Panel at your Video Settings--look at your REFESH RATE..set it @60-Hz/look in Monitor(properties)..

    ===

If you go to websites that keep asking that you download their Media Player--you might want to stop doing that..that's why your REFESH RATE is changing..

    ===

    Basically..if your having a resolution issue/

Just re-install the graphics driver..check your resolution settings..

Check the REFESH RATE..mine runs at 60-Hz/

    ===

If you were installing software--it must be compatible--there's really no way to make software run on a machine--its not meant for..

Safe Mode Bootup ?XP, Vista, Win7

    =============

Try this, its easy and will not harm anything

Slowly tap the F8 key while the computer is powering up

Just after the screen goes blank, the F8 key will point the computer to a menu where safe mode can be selected.

Note if you mistakenly tap F8 key again, it will continue through to normal boot, so power down and try again.

Scroll and select Last known good configuration.

This is stronger than doing a system restore in normal mode.

Wait till the boot has finished before clicking anything.

(System restore is the first line of restoration.

The second line is last known good configuration.

The third line is system restore in safe mode.

The fourth line is repair from your disk recovery console.

The fifth line is a delete partition with clean install).

After doing last known good restore and if you need to adjust the resolution follow this:

XP - update video or sound driver

    -------------------------------------

    in XP do this

click start %26gt;help and support %26gt;type in processor in the search

in the results look for find hardware and in there your video or sound card is displayed

highlite some of the video or sound card text of the name and type and press control +c to copy it

paste it in google and add driver

in the results pick one that looks like the manufacturer and download the latest driver

if its an exe file just double click it to install.

if its a driver file then right click my computer icon %26gt;manage %26gt;device manager.

For video expand display adapter %26gt;right click your video card %26gt;update driver %26gt;point wizard to your file.

for sound expand sound %26gt; right click the audio controller %26gt;update driver %26gt;point wizard to your file.

    reboot.

    for video

Right Click the empty space on the desktop%26gt; properties%26gt; settings. Choose a resolution where the little screen in the window is the same shape as your screen.

Some graphics cards overide windows resolution settings. You can tell this is the case because the settings will not change from windows settings. If so hover the mouse over the icons in the sys tray near the clock. One of the icons will be the graphics card. Right click it and follow your nose to sniff out how to alter the resolution.Screen resolution changed and won%26039;t change back.. 10 POINTS IF YOU CAN HELP.?
    *facepalm*

Firstly, never unplug the computer, never do a system restore.

System restore is very buggy and doesn't always fix what you intend it to work.

Secondly, I hate you for still having XP professional. I'm on W7. It's terrible.

    Now to fix your problem.

    1: Go to your desktop

2: Right Click on the Desktop

    3: Click on properties

4: Go to the screen resolution tab near the top of the window

5: Change the screen size from 800x600 to something ideal like 1024x768

    6: Hit Apply and OK

If your screen flickers once or twice, then stays at 800x600 ... then chances are you have an issue with your hardware. Seeing as you pulled out your power supply, opening up your computer and changing components isn't an option.

The only relatively safe thing I can advise you to do next is update your drivers.

    1: Click the start menu

    2: Go to control panel

3: Under the View tab, change your view to classic start menu. The blue bar on the left lets you do this too if I remember correctly.

    4: Open Device Manager

5: Go to Display Adapters, and expand it until you see what the adapter is.

6: Right click on it, click Properties.

If it's working, that's good. Otherwise, I think there should be a troubleshooting option or some way to repair it. If not, I'm not sure what else you can do.

You can't. The best way to fix that problem is simply to lower your refresh rate to the refresh rate of your TV. You can do this by right clicking on your desktop and clicking Properties. Go to the Settings tab and click the Advanced button. Go to the Monitor tab and change the refresh setting to the setting one step above when your tv starts flickering.

I have 1080P Philips TV. My computer is connected to it through a S-Video cord but it doesn't look very good on the tv. Will buying an adaptor like this %26quot;http://cgi.ebay.com/VGA-To-S-VIDEO-RCA-?allow me to have better resolution. I know how to change the number of pixils of the desktop and all that... The Radeon will have a normal VGA (15 pin) connector and a DVI connector. ATI and others sell converters that convert from DVI to component video (R/G/B).

You will not get a HD picture from a composite (yellow) or s-video signal. Only component and HDMI will work. DVI is mostly used to connect LCD monitors that have a digital port.Raedon 9700 pro Video Card, and poor resolution on my HD TV... Someone help..?
I don't think HD TVs are meant to project images from the Desktop. However I may be wrong about this.

If the image on the TV looks fuzzy or unreadable, try to change the resolution on your monitor to 800x600 this should make the projection readable on the TV.

The lower you can set your resoulution on the monitor the better it will display on your TV screen.

    Resetting resolution on bootup?

I am running Windows XP SP2 and want to know how to reset the resolution on my video card during bootup. I need to do this because the computer was being used at 1920 x 1280, and my monitor's native resolution is at 1024 x 720 ( or around there) so during bootup I see nothing, and cannot use my computer until I am able to change the resolution, anyone have any suggestions as to a specific keystroke that will reset the resolution.Resetting resolution on bootup?
Press F8 at boot up to load the boot menu options.

If you got it right, it should have %26quot;Safe Mode%26quot; at the top.

One of the lower options says %26quot;Enable Safe VGA mode%26quot; or something along those lines.

Choose that option and it should boot your machine in 800x600 graphics mode.

Ok. I have a problem. I was playing Vanguard Saga of heroes when a Friend on steam Messaged me. it minimizes vanguard to open the message. Then i open up Vanguard again but when it tries to open Vanguard, it also tries to open the message. Then my computer crashed because of that. I start up my computer, and open it to find that im running 1024 by 768 for resolution! I have been running 1600 by 1800 (i think thats what it is) but then i open up the thing to change resolution and i cant go any higher. i have done google searches, yaho searches, looked through trouble shooting on my computer but i cant find anything! So I've come to you guys. Please help. (by the way im running 2 Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT video cards)How to change screen resolution.
If you can not increase the resolution even outside of VSoH, your graphics driver may have been messed up. Try reinstalling or updating graphics driver. BUT before you do that, try booting to SAFE mode then scan for virus. Something might have slipped through when you got the Message.

I got the Kodak EasyShare touch screen HD camera...anyways if anyone has it if they can tell me how they like it....and my actual question is...Does lowering the MP change the size, and if yes is it also lowering the picture quality? And does lowering the resolution on the video also lowering video quality?

The two higher resolution chioces says HD and the lower ones doesn't say that next to the resolution selection, so does that mean the lower the resolution it is no longer HD?Got a new camera, and need some help figuring out megapixels and resolution? Kodak EasyShare if anyone has it?
You should never EVER set your camera to anything less than best quality (i.e. lowest compression rate) and biggest size (highest resolution).

    The reasons for that include:

    1) If you have a good, large photo, you can crop it more later on without losing too much detail if you really have to.

    2) If you happen to take the best photo you ever took, you'll be able to print it at a large size. If you lowered size and quality, you'd be kicking yourself.

    3) If you decide later you really don't want to keep a big file, it is very easy to down-size it in post processing - but you can't go the other way, you can't invent pixels that weren't there in the first place.

    4) Memory cards are cheap, so are bigger hard drives. There is NO reason to do anything less than the best.

  • Can't change resolution after clean install of Windows XP?

Hi, so I had Windows 98 on my Compaq Presario, and my sister often played a game called Petz 5 with no problems. A while ago though I %26quot;upgraded%26quot; to Windows XP via a clean install (I wiped my hard drive and installed XP.)

The problem is now the game won't run. I reinstalled it but it says the resolution has to be higher. And even after installing the driver for my monitor, I still can't change the resolution. It gives me a weird black error screen message saying the monitor can't handle it. WHICH doesn't make sense since I could play the game before...

Okay, so I have a Compaq Presario MV520 monitor and I THINK an SiS 530/620 video adapter, or at least that's what Windows is telling me.

If someone knows how I can get my resolution working like it was before that would be great! Oh, and if it is a driver issue, please paste the exact URL for them because I've been looking into this for months and can't find the right ones! :P

    Thanks so much in advance,

PS If I left out any information that might help, lemme know and I'll add it ASAP. Thanks! :)Can%26039;t change resolution after clean install of Windows XP?
oh but wait you have windows 98 computer :O

usually windows 98 computers have bad graphics, Especially when you get to formating and booting up on xp.... so you can either get a new graphics card or get a new computer....

Since well windows 98 is extremely old and out dated therefore you may not get any graphics cards that the motherboard can handle....

You need to install the drivers from the graphics card site and check it for updates.

I need to install my video driver(s) so that i can change my screen resolution, and prolly more drivers than that, including one for audio.

How would i go about installing these drivers? How do i install video drivers?
You're going to have to go into Device Manager to find out what drivers you need to install. When you get into device manager, some devices may have a yellow ! next to them alerting you that something is wrong. There may also be some devices that don't have a ! next to them, but still need to be updated. Here's one route you can take that's probably the easiest.

    1) Make sure your computer is connected to the internet. Open up Device Manager by doing the following: Click on Start, Right click on My Computer, Click on Properties. Once the Properties window is open, click on the Hardware tab. (if you're using Windows Vista, there's a link on the left-hand side that says Device Manager). In the Hardware tab, click on the button that says Device Manager. Once inside the menu, you will see a list of all the devices on your computer. You can try upgrading each one, such as the display and audio drivers by double clicking on the device, and then clicking the Update Driver button. The computer will search the internet for driver upgrades and install them automatically.

If this method doesn't work, you're going to have to install them yourself. To do this, you have to get into Device Manager again, and take a look at what devices you are using. For example, you may have an NVIDIA graphics card, in which case you will need to go to their web site and download the correct drivers yourself. The same goes for all other devices that need driver upgrades. How do i install video drivers?

If you know the manufacturer, go to the website and download drivers and click on setup. If you do not know the manufacturer, go to you're computer brands webpage, enter stats and download needed drivers. How do i install video drivers?
find out who makes your video card then get the latest drivers from that companies website.

Most video cards are either Nvidia or Ati. However a few others are out there. How do i install video drivers?

Get them from the manufacturers website or install cd, most install automatically . you should be able to change your resolution from the Control panel / Display, or a graphics program like nVidia Wizard. You will need to re-encode the video using software. A quick search turns up the free Any Video Converter package, which you can get from the below URL. I'm not sure if this will work for you, but I use Vuze (a bit torrent client) to convert videos in to the correct format for my phone. This basically hooks into iTunes to create the correct video for an iPhone, but there's a chance that it might detect your samsung software and allow you to create videos for that. well it all depends on the image quality, if you are watching a video of poor quality then by increasing the resolution even 100 of times more wouldn't help in getting clarity. softwares normally don't enhance your hardware from which render your videos. some graphic cards have a property for picture clarity. you have to enable the option from the GPU's software driver. i've done the same for myself.

    From widescreengaming.net:

Battlefield 2 does not have native widescreen support. To force a custom resolution, edit your game shortcut so it looks like the following:

    %26quot;C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe%26quot; +menu 1.15 +widescreen 1 +szx 1440 +szy 900

    -or-

How to upscale video's progressive scan?

I have heard that you can improve the videos progressive scan and resolution by changing the format or something but im still not sure?

Some one please help me tell me how to?How to upscale video%26039;s progressive scan?
That isn't true...your video will always be limited to the NATIVE RECORDED Resolution.....

If it was recorded in 720P all you will get out of it is 720P, no more, no less.....How to upscale video%26039;s progressive scan?
Scanning is how the picture is drawn on your screen. There are two ways. Standard TV draws every other line, first the odd numbered lines and then the even numbered lines. This is called interlaced scanning and refereed to as 480i. 480 lines of resolution interlaced. This can make the picture look kind of jerky.

A better way is to draw every line from top to bottom, refereed to as progressive scan or 480p.

If you have a high definition TV you have two other choices in resolution, 720 or 1080. In modern TVs 720 is always progressive (720p). In older TVs (or cheaper ones) they gave the option of 1080i. Higher resolution but interlaced scanning. Why they did this I don't know since it does not make much sense. Almost all newer TVs now support 1080p and high end TVs will do that at 60 times a second or even 120 times a second compared to the 30 frames a second of the broadcast signal.

If you have a hi-def TV I'd suggest you experiment with it and find out which resolution looks the best with the sources you have. If you don't have a hi-def TV you have nothing to worry about. SD (standard definition) TV only supports 480i.

My Dell Inspiron 1200's display has 1280x768 resolution. How do I increase this when connected to LCD monitor?

I bought a laptop, Dell Inspiron 1200. By choosing the property on the desktop, I can set the max resolution at 1280x768. But even when i connect my laptop to my 21 inch LCD display, the max is still 1280x780. Is there anyway to increase this resolution withtout changing the hardware (video card)? How do I increase this when connected to LCD monitor?
The max resolution is keyed to the hardware, in this case, the video cards or on board video chip capabilities. Other than changing the video hardware, there is nothing that can be done.

    Video card upgrade and resolution?

I have a Intel庐 Desktop Board D845PESV motherboard. I want to upgrade my video card(nivida Geforce Fx 5200).

My motherboard states that it supports AGP video format and says it supports a PCI video adpater as well. Does that

mean I can buy a PCI video card? It says this on the form:

How do I designate an add-in PCI video adapter as my primary video adapter?

The primary video adapter can be changed from the onboard AGP to an add-in PCI adapter through the BIOS Setup Utility.

The setting is located in the Advanced screen under Video Configuration.

The reason I want to upgrade my video card is I have two 22inch monitors set up on a dual video card(geforce fx 5200)

and one is running at a resolution of 1680 x 1050 and the other one at 1600 x 1024, I want both to run at 1680 x 1050 but

can't get the second monitor to offer the resolution of 1680 x 1050. I updated my nvidia driver but that did nothing.

Is there something wrong with my video card? Do I have to upgrade my video card? If I upgrade my video card will my

dual monitors be able to run a 1680 x 1050 each at the same time?Video card upgrade and resolution?
There is a lot of potential for driver conflicts and other such issues when you add a PCI video card to an AGP setup. I would avoid it if possible.

Are you sure both monitors are capable of 1680x1050? Perhaps one has a lower native resolution than the other one?

If you want to buy another video card, I wouldn't bother with PCI. I would just upgrade the AGP from that old FX5200.

The highest you can go with AGP would be the ATI Radeon HD3850 AGP. It's a much more recent video card than the nVidia FX5200 (4 years more recent, in fact), and supports the latest DirectX10 and HDCP, so it is more widescreen-aware and might work better.

  • Can someone tell me how to change the resolution on my computer? I need to increase the pixels to 600-800?

I just signed up with peoplepc.com and when I downloaded the software, a screen popped up telling me I needed to increase the pixel count to 600-800. I went under Settings to where I thought I could move the cursor over to increase the pixels but it would not let me drag the cursor over. I contacted peoplepc and they told me I needed to install a video driver to correct the resolution problem, but I don't have the disk. They told me I could download one (video driver) from the Internet. Can anyone tell me how I can do this? I can get on the Internet, but the page is too big and I have to scroll over to the left and right to read the screen. Also, the pictures are unclear because of the pixel count. HELP!Can someone tell me how to change the resolution on my computer? I need to increase the pixels to 600-800?
You most likely have an Nvidea or Radeon video card.

    Find out doing this

    1. Right click on your windows background.

    2. Click %26quot;Properties%26quot;

    3. Click the %26quot;settings%26quot; tab at the top

    4. Click Advanced.

    5. Click the adapter setting

Here it will tell you what type of adapter (i.e. video card) you have.

Next go to the website for that adapter.

For instance if it's Intel go to www.intel.com,

if it's radeon, go to www.radeon.com,

if it's Nvidia, go to www.nvidia.com

    Alsmost any company is www.companyname.com

Once at their sight look for %26quot;downloads%26quot; or something like that. You should be able to find it.

Once you've found it, download it and install. Restart you computer, than try to increase your resolution.

you must open your computer (i think is a desktop pc, not a notebook) and look for the video card, if it is out the mother board, look where is your monitor attached outside, and look inside if is in the main electronic board or on a electronic card plugged in the main board. in this case, remove this card and read the surface of the bigger chip on it, then you must look at that brand web page and the driver for the numeric model on it.

Else, you must look for the part of the mother board and look for the video drivers for it at www.motherboard.cz

if a notebook, just look to the manufacturer web page and search that model drivers.

if you can get some of that data, just sendme it at grangenio_here, in yahoo, and i will give you more help about it.

How can get better computer screen resolution on my plasma tv screen?

I recently bought a DVI/HDMI cable and connected my computer to my 42%26quot; plasma tv. The resolution is very poor. I tried changing the resolution to match the tv (1080) but it made the text very hard to read. I tried adjusting the resolution from the video card and the computer settings, nothing. No matter what resolution I try, it still looks bad. Not sure if it matters, but I'm running a 7950 GT video card. How can get better computer screen resolution on my plasma tv screen?
The %26quot;1080%26quot; is meaningless for monitor resolution. I'm using a 22%26quot; HDTV/monitor, and had to switch graphics cards that would support the monitor's native resolution of 1680 x 1050. See what your TV's native resolution is, and if your card will support that. How can get better computer screen resolution on my plasma tv screen?
it def. matters of the video card you're using. using a flat panel tv, it only supports a certain resolution (refer to your owners manual for what it is) now you need to see if you video card supports that. if it does, set that resolution and you're good to go. i had the same issue with my LG LCD.

How do I get better resolution on my HDTV using my ATI 9700 computer video card?

Ok, Here is what I got. I have an ATI Radeon 9700 video card, in a computer that I built using spare parts from my friends Alienware. I have it hooked up via S-Video cable to my TV which is a Samsung 50'' LCD HDTV. My problem is that even though I am running the latest drivers, the resolution on my TV image (which is a clone of my desktop) is just terrible. I have a friend with a RCA LCD 52'' hooked up in much the same way ( except he uses VGA, an option I don't have), but his picture is crystal clear. Is there a setting I can change to repair this? Or is my friends LCD just a better TV for this type of connection? Or are my dreams of having as crystal clear 50'' HD image to play Call of Duty 3 on just a bit too lofty? Should I try to upgrade to Vista (grrr) or just stick with XP Pro? Any advice, good or bad, would be much appreciated. Thank you!!How do I get better resolution on my HDTV using my ATI 9700 computer video card?
First of all, I would recommend making your computer's video resolution the same as the native resolution of your TV. Generally the resolutions are 1280x720 for a 720p TV and 1920x1080 for a 1080i/p TV. If you using a different resolution your TV is having to scale its display to match that resolution. Another thing I would try: use component video cables or DVI to connect to your TV, if that is an option on your video card/TV. They will provide a higher quality picture than your s-video cable. How do I get better resolution on my HDTV using my ATI 9700 computer video card?
Your problem is the S-Video connection. this is stuck at a 480i connection as that is the S-Video standard.

Your TV has to have a better way to connect to qualify as HD. You may need to get a video card that has a suitable output to match the TV's input. You will get the best picture from a DVI - DVI link, or HDMI to DVI, if your TV has DVI or HDMI inputs.

Do not upgrade to Vista, it is a video hog and a resource hog in general. It is also rather flakey.

I have a samsung LCD tv and when you switch the mode from the cable tv to the video input where the ps3 is plugged into, there is a display on the top left that tells you what resolution it is. So, I have my PS3 set to 1080 when its in the menu and stuff but when I start a game, (for example NBA 2k10 which says on the box it can be played in 1080p) my tv switches to 720. Any suggestions? How do I change my resolution to 1080?
HDTV are fixed resolution displays, you can't change the resolution. If your TV has a native resolution of 720p then it is a 720p TV. If it's native resolution is 1080p then it a 1080p TV.

What might be confusing you is that many 720p can handle a 1080p input signal; it just down coverts the incoming signal to its native 720p resolution. How do I change my resolution to 1080?
If your tv is native resolution 720p, than no matter what you send to it, that's all it can display. You can't change a tv's native resolution.

Change boot resolution or adjust frequency to resolve Out of range issue?

    Hello!

I have Windows XP and an old ATI Radeon 9000 video card. I also have this LCD monitor.

They used to work just fine, but from a month or so, when I boot (or even just before the booting starts) I get an %26quot;Out of range%26quot; message from my monitor, and the the V frequency is 49.x Hz but never 50 (I found out that if it's below or 50 it is OK). Also, the monitor reports that the screen resolution is 800 x 600.

I can't see anything else until Windows loads (when frequency is below 60 Hz). Just sometimes it gets below 50 and I can go into BIOS or the Windows boot menu.

My question is how can I force another resolution during booting, in order to increase the frequency.

(P.S.: I already tried starting Windows in VGA mode, starting in safe mode etc. - actually even is safe modes it looks like it is a 800x600 although Windows reports that is 640x480 - the image is stretched down and it is more clear than it would have been in 640x480 as I can tell)

Please help me with this.Change boot resolution or adjust frequency to resolve Out of range issue?

    Battlefield 2142 Video Error?

Okay I know I'm an idiot but I am so angry at this fu%ing game! I went to change the video settings in the menu on BF2142 and I changed the resolution to... idk the last on, and I think it was at 75hertz or w/e and all of a sudden my monitor goes black and a default screen for the monitor comes up and says frequency is out of range, here's what I need to figure out how to do, i need to change the resolution of the game but since the ******* game doesn't do a little accept thing after you change the options to make sure something works/ so this doesn't happen, it doesn't sonow everytime I run it it comes up to a black screen and I can hear it. How the hell do I do this, yeah I'm pissed this isn't the first problem I've had with BF2142.Battlefield 2142 Video Error?
Ok, not to be mean, but it's not the game's fault you didnt research what resolution your monitor could support. That aside, try the below link to get your game working again... go to the section about setting a custom resolution, and substitute a resolution your monitor supports for the one they show in the example... good luck hope this helps
