I bought a laptop, Dell Inspiron 1200. By choosing the property on the desktop, I can set the max resolution at 1280x768. But even when i connect my laptop to my 21 inch LCD display, the max is still 1280x780. Is there anyway to increase this resolution withtout changing the hardware (video card)? Can I install a new video driver? Dell gave me only one video driver, and didn't give me any other choice.My Dell Inspiron 1200%26039;s display has 1280x768 resolution. How do I increase this when connected to LCD monitor?
The max resolution is keyed to the hardware, in this case, the video cards or on board video chip capabilities. Other than changing the video hardware, there is nothing that can be done.
