Due to low-budget costs and a burned out computer, my father bought an eMachines EL1331G. (Yes, I know that is very low-end, so please do not comment about it.) It works perfectly fine. My monitor is an HP Pavilion f1703. I have installed the recommended Driver upgrades from the eMachines and NVidia websites. I even installed self-adjustment and first aid tools specifically for this monitor from the HP website. I have tried changing the resolution in Safe Mode, but it only keeps the settings for Safe Mode.
My CPU is an AMD Athlon 2850e Processor. My video driver is a NVidia GeForce 6150 SE that has been Integrated. Finally, my OS is Windows 7 Home Premium.

In safe mode, you won't be able to change the resolution (or set refresh rates). Safe mode boots XP using a generic VGA driver, not the graphics driver you have loaded; this allows you to recover from video-drivers-gone-wrong type problems.
Instead of booting into safe mode, you'll need to boot into VGA mode. This isn't very well documented as far as I can tell; as best as I can recall, you'll need to do the following:
Hit F8 twice right after the computer boots. You'll see more options than you'll typically find in the normal F8 boot menu.
One of the options is VGA mode; select that option. XP will boot like normal, except it'll force the video card to boot at 640x480 with 4 colors @ 60hz. How can you change a video file size to make it BIGGER! NOT SMALLER!?
I'm trying to combine all these Youtube vids to make one big file, but there is one vid that for some reason DivX Converter refuses to allow because frame rate, sample bit, resolution or whatever has to be exactly the same as the rest, but it doesn't go into detail! I've checked resolution and a few other things, and the only thing that's different from this file to the other ones is:
Estimated file size: 22.34MB
All the others are Estimated file size: 24.38MB

Some games get incorrect resolution on my 1440 x 900 monitor, Seemingly they go to 1600~ x 900 resolution.?
So, I've noticed this problem in playing both Halo 2 Vista and TES4: Oblivion. This is a fairly new computer, Gotta less then a week ago.
It seems that after I change resolution settings on these games, The next time I start the game the resolution is at 1600 x 900 or something. Don't get me wrong, The in-game video settings still say 1440x900 (so does Oblivion.ini in the C:/users/name/documents/my games/oblivion) but the game seems to be running at the wider setting. My monitor can't go past 1440 x 900 in the display settings, But the games don't crash me or anything, They just are partly displayed.(Someone off the screen, Hiding, if you know what I mean.)
Any idea why this happens / How to fix it? (I can temporarily fix it by changing the video settings in halo to something then back to 1440x900, But oblivion requires you to restart the game to change resolution, So that won't work for that =/) (Also, It doesn't matter what resolution I set it at in-game, It goes back to the one near 1600x900.) firstly games are supported and run better on 32bit than 64bit.
as for the resolution, it depends wat size monitor you have. 19%26quot;, 20%26quot;, 21%26quot;? games aren't as well operated on larger screens they sometimes move off to the side abit. as you are using 1440x900 i assume u are using widescreen... well unfortunately it cant be fixed, i have problems with it aswell on my games. i dont think its that bad.jus half a cm off. u can barely notice it.

Ive just recently installed skype on to my pc. The sound quality is superb but the picture quality is rubbish. Is there any way of increasing the resolution of the video messaging? Msn video messaging has good quality video but the sound is rubbish.

How can I get my ATI AGP Radeon 9800 to view in a 4:3 mode whenI select 1024x768 for a resolution?
On my Dell laptop, I can change the video settings that if I am running a typical 4:3 resolution (like 800x600 or 1024x768) I can get the screen to shape correctly on my widescreen LCD. (And I get black bars on the left and right sides of the screen)

Whenever I play a video on my new cell, only the sound came out! No image at all! The image froze! I downloaded avi videos %26amp; converted them to mp4 %26amp; 3gp (320 x 240 resolution) using MediaCoder. I can't figure out why! I tried using other converter but the same thing happened. Tried changing the video resolution %26amp; size and stuff but still didn't work! What could really be the cause??
My new cell is LG KS360 if that matters.
And NO, it's not because I got a bad unit because 2 of my sisters got the same phone %26amp; they can't play videos on their phones too!
KS360 DOES have video playback! It says so on the manual. Plus, I saw many YouTubers who own KS360 are able to play mp4 %26amp; 3gp videos smoothly.
I also saw this one guy on a forum who faced the same exact problem %26amp; the next few days, he said problem solved %26amp; he is now able to play videos smoothly on KS360 %26amp; he was very happy and unfortunately he didn't state how. I PMed him but he never did reply to my PM.

How do I fix my computers resolution/video?
I just updated my video cards' driver. The driver is fairly old but still works as if new. It is an Intel(R) 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller running on an Acer TravelMate 4050. After installing the new driver from the intel website and restarting my computer the resolution has changed from it's original (which I believe was 480x600 or something like that) and changed to a more vertically stretched 1024x768. This mode is more than annoying and after trying to change it, it only allows it to change to one other resolution 600x800.Which yet again isn't the one I wish to have.
If anyone has any answers that do not involve removing the driver I would be pleased; as the driver I am currently using allows me to use appropriate graphics for some games. But if no answers can be given on how to fix without uninstalling the driver, I will have to take whatever is offered. This may or may not help, but try VLC... It's an open-source video player... I sometimes have trouble playing certain videos in Windows Media Player on my one computer (with a decent video card), but VLC plays them with no problem.
If that doesn't work, then you can use Super 漏 to convert it.

Can I change resolution or setting in a digital camera so the output video is something other than AVI?
I have a Samsung Digimax i5 camera... I have in the past used the video option and when downloading to my pc it is uploaded as a MP4 file. Now all of a sudden, I don't know how but the files are now AVI when uploaded.. I am aware that I can convert the files with a converter but I just want to know how or what I did to make this happen? Why does my computer resolution change with an HDMI cable?
When I connect my video card to my monitor it changes my computer screen and it becomes smaller. It does not fit 100% to its contents, like its not wide or tall enough, it has a black border around it almost an inch. Um... I download two anime about 24 minutes and 24 seconds. The anime's are Clannad which goes around 24 episodes and La Corda d'Oro about 26 episodes. Both, when combined, gives a memory consumption about 8.5GB [one episode is about 165-170MB]. The original video resolution is 704x400 and a bitrate of 714kbps and it's in .avi format. I'm planning to reduce the file size by converting or whatever process I should do just to make the memory consumption lesser! So... guys, what should I do to make it smaller?
PS: I don't want to change the video size. Changing the bitrate and format would do but PLEASE, don't answer: %26quot;you should lessen the bitrate.%26quot; If you're gonna answer this, specify how much bitrate should I put like: from 714 to 700... etc.
One more thing, does changing .avi to .wmv can make it smaller? If not, what type?

No one can give you an exact number. If you want to go that route, cut it down to 1/4 the current rate. If that's too much, now you know your lower limit. Go back to 1/2 the bit rate. I have a 1080p mkv video that I want to play on my laptop. It skips during playback because the cpu tops out every so often (barely hits 100% every 5-10+ seconds, depending on program and complexity of video). Did you clear your cmos? Also, when you uninstall the driver from control panel, you dont uninstall the full driver. You will need something like Driver cleaner to completely wipe out drivers for nvidia, then install the latest one and you will be fine.

The product you get out of the camera is as good as it gets for you. The only way to get a better starting product is to get a better camera.
The image quality won't change just because you go from 1024 x 768 to 640 x 480. The compression is the same. You also won't see a difference with any speed changes that exceed (24 or) 29 fps. That's kinda the minimum that we see without flicker so anything more we don't notice a change. Anything over that is overkill and is only good for doing slo-mo on the backend. The video quality changes when you increase compression.
Say you have a uncompressed video (.AVI) that's 5 GB. That's too big unless you're gonna edit out 90% of it and then you can render out as AVI and maintain the original quality. Typically though, you compress to MPEG 2 or 4, Quicktime, or another DVD compatible MPEG format. You can run your test by adjusting the bitrate settings within the MPEG 2 compression. If that doesn't work use the same as before but change the quality of colors a bar with many colors stripes to the lowest.
Still having trouble?... then do the same but select advanced options and turn the ppt to the Lowe's to check if the screen works like that. (I suggest you to try under 90 ppt)
If you don't have other Screen try using the manual configuration (buttons). Now if you Screen is old, try with anti fail mode (MODO APRUEBA DE FALLOS) in Spanish...

Boot into safe mode, and change back to the default 800x640. That should allow you to be able to boot back into normal boot.
To do this restart your computer when it is starting up keep taping F8 a screen will come up select the Safe Mode and press Enter.
Go to: control panel%26gt; Display%26gt; setting here you can change the screen resolution by simply dragging the arrow to either side. When you done that restart your computer and boot in the normal mode.

I recently got homeworld 2 on my laptop. When i try to run it however, only the top left corner of the screen is visible because it becomes magnified and the rest of the screen gets cut off. I have a dell 26 n lcd tv/monitor hooked up to my dell computer...was messing around and changed the screen resolution in windows (vista). Now my monitor has this bouncing msg that says %26quot;out of range can't display this video mode. Change computer display input to 1360x768 at 60hz%26quot;. but it won't let me because I can't see anything. Have restarted, F8 and safe mode, but it only brings up the welcome screen for maybe 1 second before returning to the blank screen with the same %26quot;out or range...%26quot; message.

How do I change the video resolution of my computer?
I have these 4-5 blurred lines going vertically down my monitor, and they come about 15-30 min after starting up my computer. Then, I must shut down and restart about 30 min at least later. Someone told me to try changing the video resolution.

To change resolution: just right click the desktop and go to properties and then go to advance or display settings if you have vista. put the resolution lower if the screen goes blank for 30 seconds.
In my opinion it's nothing to do with the resolution because the blurred lines are probably the cause of a faulty monitor but, if it did fix it then it doesn't matter.
If anything else don't work try testing the graphics card. go to start menu then go to run then type dxdiag and enter. there you can test the graphic card if it's faulty or something. if anything else i really reckon replace the monitor instead.
