Why does the video look the same when I change the resolution?

Camcorder: Sony DCR-TRV22

Camcorder Specs: http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-camcorde

Video Software: Magix Movie Edit Pro 11

I exported the videos with different resolutions and different FPS combinations ... I did all of them in MPEG-2 ... how come they all look the same??

These are the three videos with the Resolution, FPS and Format writen in the description field.

IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO MAKE IT LOOK BETTER WITH WHAT I HAVE NOW ... OR DO I HAVE TO GET A BETTER CAMERA FOR BETTER QUALITY AT THIS POINT?Why does the video look the same when I change the resolution?
The product you get out of the camera is as good as it gets for you. The only way to get a better starting product is to get a better camera.

The image quality won't change just because you go from 1024 x 768 to 640 x 480. The compression is the same. You also won't see a difference with any speed changes that exceed (24 or) 29 fps. That's kinda the minimum that we see without flicker so anything more we don't notice a change. Anything over that is overkill and is only good for doing slo-mo on the backend. The video quality changes when you increase compression.

Say you have a uncompressed video (.AVI) that's 5 GB. That's too big unless you're gonna edit out 90% of it and then you can render out as AVI and maintain the original quality. Typically though, you compress to MPEG 2 or 4, Quicktime, or another DVD compatible MPEG format. You can run your test by adjusting the bitrate settings within the MPEG 2 compression. You will see the quality drop as you lower the bitrate. Your file size will get smaller too. That's the trade-off.Why does the video look the same when I change the resolution?
The bitrate is adjustable if your editor settings are that detailed. The higher the better. http://www.techterms.com/defin
