Games not running full screen?

Hey guys,

basically what my problem is, it that when i run diablo 2 on the pc i have a black border about 2 inch wide all around the screen.

i have a toshiba satelitte pro 4600 laptop with lcd screen, pentium 2 or 3 i forget, and im running windows xp pro.

ive tried alt-enter, nothing

ive tried to find game setting sfor diablo, but there is none,

ive tried changing my resolution to find that when i decrease my screen resolution it does exactly the same as in diablo 2,black borders.(ie, instead of having a lower quality picture over the whole sccreen, i have the same quality picture but in a small window

i have tried every option in the right click, display properties, settings, advanced, and also ran the game each change, nothing

i have been told it is something to do with my BIOS, when i intially start the computer and presing an F* number. and then changing my video settings to be full screen. However i dont know how to get to this BIOS optionGames not running full screen?
If you are not playing in windowed mode, Diablo II takes control of your screen and changes it's resolution down to 800x600 or 640x480. If you are in windowed mode, there are other things on the screen, so Diablo does not have control of your resolution. Diablo II can not scale up it's window to more than 800x600. If you want the 800x600 to take up more of your screen, then set your screen to a smaller resolution of 800x600.

Oh to get it to play in Window mode do this.

Right click on the short cut%26gt; Properties

On the Target Line add a -w to the end of the string so it looks like this:

%26quot;C:\Program Files\Diablo II\Diablo II.exe%26quot; -w

Here is another option is to edit the properties of the short cut, go to the compatability tab, tell it to run in windows 98 mode at 640 x 480 and see if that helps.

OK.... here is a program called powerstrip it lets you add a custom sreen resolution, check it out here:

Here are some forums that covers this problem:

Is your Laptop a 16:9 wide screen? or a normal 4:3 screen?

BIOS or %26quot;Setup%26quot; Access this way on all Satellite Pro

There are two ways to run the BIOS Setup on these models:

Starting with the system powered off (not in Sleep/Suspend or Hibernate mode)擲tart with the system powered off. Press the power button and then immediately press and hold the Esc key while the system runs the POST (Power On Self Test). When the POST finishes, a prompt will appear telling you to press the F1 key to enter BIOS Setup. At that time, press the F1 key to access the BIOS Setup program.

From Windows, using the HWSetup program擳he HWSetup program comes preinstalled on these Toshiba models, and it is also contained in the Toshiba Utilities package for these models, which can be downloaded from the Toshiba support website. To run HWSetup, open the Control Panel and double-click the HWSetup program. If you change any settings, you may be required to restart the system.

Hope this Helps

If not post more comments and I will think on it.
