New video card works, cant see start menu / lower toolbar?

new video card, works, cant see desktop toolbar, start menu etc.?

just installed new video card , evga fx 5200, sofware is installed, plugged monitor into new video card and it works, everything works, but on my desktop there is no lower toolbar.. ya know, the one with the start menu button on it. im using win xp.

the video card is for win xp. if i had the start button i might be able to get to windows help and figure it out..

if i minimize a window its gone lol.

and its not an issue with screen size and it being out of visible area, i've changed resolution and the verticle adjustments on the monitor itself...

i prolly just have to change some simple setting, just dont know how to get there without the start menu.

thanks alot!New video card works, cant see start menu / lower toolbar?
right click, properties, try changing the resolutions. Mess around more with your monitors settings. Call the company you bought it from, or phone the manufacturer. Or return the thing and buy a 6600gt or better off craigslist.com for $50!

It's gotta be your monitor setting! It's just gotta! Your overlooking something!!New video card works, cant see start menu / lower toolbar?
what happens if you press the flying window key on your keyboard? It should be next to the Alt key. If your start menu comes up then go to settings%26gt; taskbar and start menu

If you can't access the start menu by pressing the windows key then try accessing control panel through %26quot;my computer%26quot;, then taskbar and start menu.

Check to see if auto-hide is checked, if it is then uncheck it and press OK

This is one reason I keep a control panel shortcut on my desktop.

Hope this helps
