I am planning to buy a new Xbox, but I am confused on few things.
1. I know that Xbox can play DVD or CD movies, but can it play other
formats like AVI or MOV etc. I mean that every DVD or CD movie has
either NTSC or PAL format. But suppose I burn a DVD and put some movies
in it (of AVI format), which means I didn't convert them into NTSC or
PAL. So now it is a data DVD containing a movie. Will Xbox be able to
read that movie? And since it won't read any DVD movies either until I get a reciever, I wanted to know aboout modding also. If I get it modded, what are the things that I can do with it now?
2. Do Xbox play mp3 and WMA songs?
3.Are there any video settings to change the resolution of game or other
advanced settings to increase the graphic quality (and hence decrease
the FPS, no probs), just like in PCs.
4. Can I connect some keyboard or mouse to it? And if I can, how?
5. Are there any requirements which the TV must have in order to get

1. When I put CD with avi or mov in my xbox it says: Mixed multimedia disc and doesn't play (but you can connect xbox with your PC and by using multimedia center play any movies). Burned DVD didn't work, but I tried just one.....sry

3. xbox is set to show you the max your tv can handle. You can of course change settings in the settings menu if you want.

1. DVD's play perfectly use it all the time, even if you just want to stream the avi files, use xbox connect, crossover cable and xstream.
2. Yes streamed off computer of portable device
3. All graphics are optimised to look the best the system can handle, you cant change it to make it look any better they are already maxxed out.
4. Just keyboard via usb
5. Any tv works and looks fine. SD looks GREAT but HD looks better.
